Person sitting at computer, making money online.
Making money online

So, you want to make money online.

It’s not easy

I’ll get straight to the point. It’s not easy. Impossible? No. Hard? Yes. Making money online is the million-dollar question that everyone wants answered, including myself.

Here’s a secret… I still haven’t figured out how to make money online. This isn’t some website that’s going to be filled with cheesy regurgitation of unoriginal “money-making” methods, that promises to teach you how to make money online and then leaves you disappointed. The internet is already filled with those kinds of sites, whose primary purpose is to keep you reading long enough to spam you with ads or sell you on a course.

I think I can help

I’m hoping I can help you (and myself in the process) by diving down deeper than just “buy this and sell it for this much”. To truly make money online, we have to figure out what YOU are good at… or at least enjoy enough to pursue and become good at. What can YOU provide that helps somebody else?

I think a lot of us all have the same problem, which is not feeling creative enough to think of something to do. Hence, the numerous daily google searches of “How to make money online” and the endless cycle of wishing and hoping (Yeah, I’ve been and am currently there).

BUT. As I have been reflecting on myself and thinking about my strengths and weaknesses, I realized that I really like helping people. More specifically, I really like helping people figure out solutions to problems and help them improve their life.

Action items for you

Since I don’t want to make this a longer read than it needs to be, I’m going to end this post and leave you with some thoughts I want you to think about. Keep these in your mind as you go about your day.

  1. What kinds of things interest you? What do you like to do?
  2. Are you good enough at any of those things that you can help others do them, or provide services for?
  3. If not, which of those items would you be able to set out and remain committed to becoming more knowledgeable about?

We’ll try and build on these questions in future posts.

P.S. – Website Tip

If you’d like to know how I created this simple site, here’s a quick run-down:

  1. Went to GoDaddy
  2. Bought a domain
  3. Once domain was bought, in the GoDaddy dashboard, they had prompts to help you create a site for it. I chose to create a managed WordPress site, and it created the site and took me into WordPress where I could edit said site.
  4. Chose a WordPress theme, deleted any demo data that was there, and voila.
  5. Quick and easy. Didn’t go into detail, because you can take those steps and google for help if you get stuck anywhere.
